Sandwash Plant

Our Sandwash Plant

Sandwash Plant Produces High Quality Washed Aggregates & Sands.

Grundy & Co Excavations Ltd recently made a major investment in a brand new state of the art Sandwashing Plant from Irish Company, CDE. A total investment of circa £2M was certainly a gamble, however it was one that has paid off as the quality of material produced has exceeded expectations.

Sandwashh Plant is the latest in a long line of investments that the company have made in order to ensure that the business grows. Over the past few years the construction industry has accepted that recycled aggregates and sands represent quality products with a huge range of applications, some of which are featured on this website. The machine has allowed us to produce new products that our dry crushing and screening process did not produce. These new products have opened up markets that we previously could not enter. The final product output from the Plant is two washed sands and four washed recycled aggregates…

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please find below a list of frequently asked questions from our customers

    What is a sandwash plant?

Put simply, a sandwash plant is a piece of equipment used to wash grains of sand, gravel, and other aggregates – creating washed sands and washed recycled aggregates. Sandwashing plants improve the quality of sand by separating and removing impurities. They are widely used for washing, classifying, dewatering, and recycling aggregates to maximise product yield and product quality, whilst minimising waste. Most sandwash plants feature advanced technology and are designed to be easy to assemble, maintain, and operate. Some are also portable (or wheel-mounted), making them ideal for projects where rapid deployment is preferable.

What are sandwashing plants used for?

Sandwash plants, like ours at Grundy & Co Excavations Ltd, are used by construction material producers the world over to: • Maximise equipment life • Maximise resource yield • Minimise waste They provide a robust, reliable, low-cost, and readily available option for processing natural deposits of sand and other aggregates simply. The £2m sandwash plant we recently invested in allows us to manufacture high-quality washed aggregates and sands for our customers. Something that wasn’t possible with our dry crushing and screening process.

What are the benefits of our sandwash plant?

Call us biased, but after investing in a sandwash solution from CDE, we believe sandwash plants are well worth the investment. CDE is the largest wet processing equipment company in the world, based in Cookstown, Northern Ireland. Their ethos is simple – to help customers maximise their return on investment (ROI), minimise their environmental impact, and gain a competitive advantage in the world of recycled aggregates. Whilst the sandwash plant has enabled us to produce two top-quality washed sands and four washed recycled aggregates, it has also made it possible for us to better accommodate the needs of our industrial clients.
